“ We recently visited Balam on a Friday night for a special evening, and overall, it was an amazing experience. My wife and I reserved an intimate table, which set the perfect tone for our night out. The food was simply amazing, especially the bone marrow dish, which was absolutely delicious. The friendly front staff and attentive waitress added a warm, personal touch to our visit. The only hiccup was that it took a while for our cocktails to arrive and for our order to be taken. Despite this, the excellent food and inviting atmosphere more than made up for the delay. I definitely recommend Balam and look forward to coming back soon! ”

We celebrated a birthday here, and the staff made it so memorable—they were incredibly kind and attentive. They offer service in Spanish, English, and French, which is fantastic. The food was excellent! I loved the cochinita pibil, where I could serve the meat myself in the tortillas, and the pato carnitas had an amazing flavor. The corn soup was nice, though it could use a bit more spice. If you're looking for traditional Mexican heat, the sauces here are a bit mild, but they’re still very tasty. Finding the location was a little challenging as there seem to be different addresses listed online, so clearer directions would be helpful. They surprised us with a tres leches cake that was absolutely phenomenal—100/10! It was fresh, had an amazing flavor, and is the best Latin-style dessert I’ve had in Montreal . Overall, combining the wonderful experience, delicious food, and excellent service, I would rate this place 10/10. Thank you for making my friend’s birthday so special! ”
“ Nice restaurant, clean decor, and good selection of tequila. The food was visually pleasant, and the taste was even better. The guacamole was fresh and delicious. The duck, as well as the surf and turff tacos, were scrumptious. I love the build it yourself concept. They were served with delicious sauces. I loved their meat broth sauce. Great restaurant! “ I went there on Saturday night with three other friends and everyone loved their food. Three of us had the duck carnitas and my other friend had the surf and turf and ordered the guacamole for the table, everything tasted amazing! (We’re Mexicans). I loved that they bring you nice warm tortillas and different home-made hot sauces on the side, so you can make your own tacos with the meat of your choice. When we ran out of tortillas they happily brought more and didn’t charge extra for them. The cocktails were pretty nice too. Great place! We’ll be coming back soon! ”
